Peggy Lee Pratt Ervin

After WHS I attended Blinn Jr college for one semester. I then attended Hermann Hospital school of Vocational Nursing. I graduated from LVN school and immediately worked @ Hermann hospital as a scrub nurse in labor & delivery and in the nursery.
I got pregnant, then married and had a beautiful baby girl,Samantha in Nov. 1967. I continued to work in nursing for the next 9 years. Needless to say, the marriage was a total disaster. He abused drugs, alcohol, and me. So-- divorce for sure.
I quit nursing and went to 'Data processing' school where I became a computer operator on the old
IBM 360 and System 3. (remember these giant machines that took up a whole room & keypunch cards.) way before P/C's.
I met my husband, Richard, in 1978 . He was 7 years younger than me, so I thought
I just had a 'good friend' and was having a lot of fun. Next thing I knew, we were married in 1979. I married my best friend, my lover and my confidant. (great combo, huh?).
In 1985 I re-newed my nursing license and went to work @ Town & Country Pediatrics in Memorial
City. I worked there until my first grandchild, Camryn, was born in 2000. I then worked part-time with the doctors until 2005 when my second grandchild, Joshua was born ,I finally retired completely.
Aren't grandchildren AWESOME !! What a blessing, and of course I have the cutest & best on earth. LOL
I spend as much time as possible with my daughter and grandkids.
Richard & I both love football & have always had Texans,
or Oilers tickets. Games are fun: win or lose.
We have a house on lake Livingston so we spend a lot of time there, fishing, boating, or just
sitting in the swing watching the waves. I have to laugh when I say I fish, mostly I just ride in the boat and if a fish happens to jump on my hook,
it is a plus for the trip.
I have owned Afghan Hounds for 28 years. They are definitely my passion. I love to take 'Diva' to
the dog park on beautiful days, or run her beside the golf cart. They are beautiful, clown-like, sight
hounds and every one I have owned has been 'my princess.' My husband has always said he wants to reincarnate back as one of my Afghans. LOL We showed dogs for a while and lure coursed
for a while then decided it was not my 'thing'. I'd rather just spoil & luv them.
We live on the golf course @ Hearthstone. We both play golf....well, I sorta look-like I play golf. I mostly just like riding the cart and being outside. Sometimes I hit the ball.
Richard & I celebrate 30 years of marraige in August. Since now we are living as one for Christ
we are going to renew our vows. We are both excited about the ceremony, then a V.I.P. cruise to Alaska......... WE DID IT !!! ---- PICTURES are posted.
We have a very BLESSED life. Richard and I became 'reborn Christians' in 2000. We were baptised together in 2003. We are members of & serve in leadership at Calvary Community Church and we are on the Board of Father's Heart Ministries.
Life is good.......I still get comments about my
infectious laugh.

Favorite times ---has to be the 'away' games for volleyball. I would drive my '49 Dodge and have a car full of crazy, laughing girls. Carolyn Halbkat was always one of them & I think we'd laugh all the way to the schools. FUN MEMORIES !!

By the way...for those of you that didn't keep up with girls volleyball --- we won CITY CHAMPS,
UNDEFEATED jr & sr years.
