Is this the place to post responses to the Reunion Survey? Has there been a meeting to consider dates and locations or can we do it all via internet now? I would pick the Hwy 290 area mid-sized hotel. Maybe the expenses would be more moderate.

I got a phone call from the bank last week and I get monthly statements. Our account is dormant but we can activate it by making a withdrawal or deposit.

I assume we will need to send out mailers with the information although the website seems like a much easier choice. We have had a request not to have the reunion on October 8 or 9. So how about some specific suggestions -- dates and places?

Who is doing the survey? Linda W?

Jim Laminack,

Sealhurst was shot in the legs with a shotgun by one of the guys that was a member of the group that Terry ran with. The shooter was a small guy with an Italian last name, don't remember the name. Terry started arguing with the little guy and said he was going to whip his butt. The little guy pulled the shotgun from his car and fired a warning shot into the ground not realizing that he shot into an asphalt street. The pellets hit the street, came up and struck Terry's legs. Roger Dyer put Terry in a car and sped off to Heights Hospital and turned the car over on the way and both ended up in the hospital. I visited Roger in the hospital and he told me all of this. Some of the other members of that Reagan group were: Pancho and George Cortez; Wayne King.

What happened eventually to these guys? Charged with anything?

Also, what eventually happened to Seelhurst? The guy had such promise, as I remember.

I recall for years Reaganites claiming that they would have won that game if this incident had not happened. Of course they would have said that...

Stephen,

Aiken was not the shooter's name. The shooter's name was Italian, as in Ross Gagliano, do you remember him from Hamilton? Terry died in a house fire around '71. I don't know if anyone was charged with his shooting. Roger Dyer who drove Sealhurst to the hospital and crashed on the way was sent to the boys jail in Gatesville a short time after the shooting. There was a burglary of Heights Tackle Shop and Dyer may have been sent to jail for the crime. I don't know what happened to those guys after I graduated from Waltrip.

Ooooh, I remember Ross Gagliano, everyone thought he was soooo cute. He started going with a blonde, named Pat and they married. Hope he didn't turn out to be a "hood"
I can't remember off the top of my head, who her friends were. I used to run around with the kids in the Heights because I was crazy about Italians, and because I visited my aunt there.

Does anyone know what happened to Patricia Sirvello. I visited her once after high school and she was divorced and had a son, and working for the U of H Sports Dept. Haven't heard from her since then.

I was good friends with Pat Sirvello too! We were definitely "Mutt and Jeff" in our height differences. She was soooo much fun, but I don't know what happened to her.

Jan, you are most likely correct, but I did order my new one today. Even the hot tub people thought it was strange and strange it was! Nevertheless, my hot tub is one luxury I cannot do without. I LOVE IT!!!!!

After some thought, I think it would be cool to have the reunion on this side of town. I am just throwing choice in the hat.

Did anyone believe Tiger's apology today? I don't think he even believed it!

Pairs dancing tonight, one of my favorites! Evan was GREAT!!!!! Evan rocks!

Ken Armbrister told me that Pat Sirvello was at one time the head of the Port of Houston, I think she re-married, and I remember seeing something about it in the H Chronicle society column because she married someone who appeared in the society columns frequently. I don't remember his claim to fame, but Ken probably does.

Pat is still alive and kicking. I see her here at the Capitol when the legislature is in session. She always comes by to visit and catch up on things besides lobbying me for different issues. Pat is still very active with our States and Nations maritime issues.

Good to know re: Pat Sirvello. I remember spending the night at her house in Timbergrove, custom-made for small er people and I, not being but maybe 2 or 3" taller, loved the lower countertops and such. Very nice family, hope that her two brothers, T.J. and ___? are sucessful as well.

I drove to College Station today just to see the snow falling. There were several vehicles that had slid off the road into barriers and the grass median, probably wannabe NASCAR drivers. Hunker down, the snow is headed for Houston.

Jennie, since you're an avid fan of figure skating I'm sure you saw Mirai Nagosu skating last night for the U.S. Isn't she amazing. She reallly is poetry on ice. Since she is only 16 I'd think she will be unbelievable in the future.

Respect your elders.

Don't expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund. Maybe you'll have a wealthy spouse. But you never know when either one might run out.

Don't mess too much with your hair or by the time you're 40 it will look 85.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Since Rob brought up a golden oldie, yesterday in the Chronicle there was a great article in the business section written by Scott Burns. He discusses how we are all going to have to forget the old comfortable Ozzie and Harriet way of thinking. He even quotes a verse from
Rick Nelson's hit song Garden Party;
"But it's all right now,
I learned my lesson well,
You see, ya can't please everyone,
So ya got to please yourself."
Kind of unusual in a personal finance column.
