In loving memory
of our dear classmate
Carla was born in Nacogdoches, Texas on June 29, 1947 and grew up in Houston, Texas. Carla passed away peacefully on June 28. 2024.
She Graduated from Waltrip High school. Afterwards, she received her cosmetology license and worked as a hairdresser for a short time. Her main job was at Brown Brothers Harriman in the Investment Management department.
She was in the Girl Scouts as long as we can remember. She stayed in touch with the girls throughout her entire life.
Carla and Bob were married August 1978 until his death June 2012. His job took them to Illinois and Pennsylvania where they lived for several years until they returned to Texas where they belonged!! They bought a house in the Northwest Houston area where they lived until it was time for each of them to go Home to be with our Lord.
Carla’s heart was never the same after Bob went to Heaven 12 years ago. She kept in touch with friends, family and church throughout the years. She has always kept her Faith, even as her health declined in late 2023 through 2024. During this time, she continued to get weaker as the months went by.
Carla LOVED Hallmark movies! This was her go-to 24 hours a day!! Even if she saw them 100 times, they still made her laugh. It gave her great comfort and joy.
Carla had Bible verses ALL over her house. She memorized them every day. She could quote something every time you asked for a certain scripture or if you were in need of prayer for any reason. She was a great prayer warrior for all her friends and family that would call or text. She will be missed by all, but we know she was so ready to go to her Heavenly home to be with our Lord and Savior, and also her loving husband, Bob.
Carla is survived by her mother, Charlie Fay Roberts (97) and her three sisters, Danna Waggoner, husband Mark; Gigi Caudle, husband Steve and their 2 children, Paige and Megan; and her sister Jamie Bailey, husband Thomas and their daughter Brooke. She is also survived by many family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Bob and her dad.
