Walter Etie

In loving memory
of our dear classmate

Yesterday, heaven got a new angel. My role model, my guide. Walter August Etie Jr, my Pop. In my eyes you stood 10 feet tall and you never made a mistake. I know that isn’t true- but it’s l how I feel. You were there for every single milestone in my entire life, you held my hand right through it all. You taught me how to swim, how to fish, hunt, how to negotiate and sell. You and your beautiful wife taught me work ethic and how to stick close to God. You picked such an amazing bride. She loved you and everyone around so hard.

From the jungles of Vietnam- to having over 100 employees work for you, you truly did it all. It’s going to be hard to contntue without you here, but I will. I have huge shoes to fill and I can only hope that I make you proud.

Ecclesiastes 12:7
And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

Your journey has just begun, Pop. I can’t wait to see you again. I love you

Walter Etie Colleen Etie

A dear friend going back to Garden Oaks Elementary...kindred souls of sort. Every time we saw one another we'd declare that our teacher, "Mrs. Ivens, liked me best." I absolutely loved his wit and humor. Just beilng with Walter would  put a smile on your face. Will miss him...but, knowing his faith in Christ Jesus, I will see him again.

What can I say about Walter? He was a very close friend throughout High School, we had some great times together.  Everyone who met Walter liked him as he was that guy. God Bless Walter and the entire Etie Family!!

In 1st or 2nd grade we had to do A Frog Went A Courtin'. Walter was Froggie and I was Miss Mousie. Every time I saw Walter after that he called me Miss Mousin and I called him Froggie, and we called each other that when we wished each other happy birthday on FB. He'll always be Froggie to me. RIP Froggie!
