8 granddaughters ages 4 to 17 (no grandsons)

Retired from HFD after 30 1/2 years in 1997

Will be married 44 years in July 2010 (to the same girl)

Blessed to still have my parents, ages 83 & 85

Some of you may still remember my mom as the park director of Candlight Park in the '60's

I won the 1st prize in the city wide "operation sparkle" art contest in my senior year and thought art was in my future, but my grandfather, father, and uncle were Houston Firefighters so I guess I carried on the tradition. My son told me...sorry Dad, this is where the tradition stops and he now makes @ 3 times what I made. But, I did enjoy my career. Very exciting to say the least.
