Happy New Year Everyone! For all people having been blessed to have Mr. Henri Gadbois for art at Black, Richard Meek emailed that he will be attending the Fudd's night in January. He was born in 1930, so for him to share this special time with us I find quite exciting. If you are interested in seeing any of his work over the years you can google to find where his pieces might be showing or just look at them online. I hope many other's will come just for the fun, and it is fun!!!! Those '64 guys are a funny bunch!!!!!!!

Mery Christmas and looking forward to a Happy New Year of 2010....should be better anyway....I'm going to try to get to Fudds as well, even though it will be a work night for me. Raining, raining, raining here!

Jennie Anderson (Dylan)

Kaye, if you need a place to stay, if you come, I live very near Fudd's and you could stay with me, rather then driving back home, or do you have family here?

I wish I was a bike rider that didn't mind cold rain, b/c I hate not riding, but there is something peaceful about winter that I really like. I also get a lot more accomplished in terms of cleaning out my house, then I do when it is pretty outside.

Anyone have any interesting travels over Christmas, funny travel stories, or whatever...would love to hear them here.

i am sad to inform everyone that donna mcannally dillon has passed away...those of us who go to fudds know how she enjoyed seeing old friends...her heart problems must have been more serious than we thought...ptayers are with her family...

It is so shocking about Donna. She seemed so great and happy when I last saw her at Fudd's in October. We had such a good chat and fun time each and every time we met there. She was so kind-hearted and a joy to be around. When Linda called with the news this morning, I was speechless, but we both agreed, one never knows how long they have on this earth or when we will be able to see each other again, so we should make moments like Donna did be meaningful. I'll miss your smile, Donna, the other Dillon/Dylan. I teased her about how my name was from the real Dylan and hers had to be misspelled!

So horrible to hear of Donna, seems the good ones always go first...

I might be here awhile. I really don't understand it. Thanks, Jennie, for your invitation. That could really be fun.

Hello Everyone--

I'm in Austin and it took the temp 'til 9:45 this morning to get to 33 degrees. I hope wherever you are you are keeping warm. Kirk I specifically hope you're out of the 13 below temp. The weather is unseasonably cold for Texas, but I have noticed that this 61 year old body doesn't do well in this frigid temp. I remember years ago going to Dallas for a Cotton Bowl game and freezing my butt off and saying if I ever got warm again I would never be this cold again. I think now if you choose to go to any Bowl games I would prefer the Hula Bowl(if that still exists). I think UT has the right idea, playing in Pasadena,CA.

Stay warm and I hope to see many of you at Fudd's next Tuesday. Everyone come & Enjoy because we aren't promised tomorrow..........

Don't let the cold keep you off the Forum. It's too cold in Austin or at least NW of Austin to get out so you might as well post something exciting on the forum. The winds are quite gusty which makes our temp feel like the teens instead of 30's. For those of you who live up North or NE you probably think this is nothing but I have found as I have aged, my body can't take this cold as well as it used to. Although I can think of a few other things I can't take as well now too. My motto now is "Ain't as good as I once was but I am as good ONCE as I ever was".

Come on guys let's get this thing going strong!!! Get on the Forum. We're coming up to the 1st anniversary of this website's inception(1/14) so let's KEEP IT GOING STRONG****************

As for me, Jan I am so tired of being cold. I just want a few warm days, so I can go in my garage to wash clothes and not feel like I'm freezing. I like being out on my bike or taking a walk in cool weather, not cold weather. Oh well, that's what makes life interesting, people having different tastes. I do love my Volvo and the warming seats, what a great invention! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone Tuesday night. I will miss seeing Donna Dillion though. It won't seem the same.

Sounds as if all ya'll in Texas are freezing your buns off. It was a lovely day here in SoCal...78 degrees and blue skies.

Kay Watters (Greene)

Yes, we are freezing...but it will kill off the bugs. Beginning to have to admit that sister, Sue, might live in the better place....Galveston, TX, warmer there, mostly tropical. However, having to scale 2 story steps does not "turn me on", especially as we age and get things like bum knees. Going to try to make the Fudds this Tues. as Linda says, we ain't gettin any younger, and best to invest in fun before we have to cradle up in blankets and diapers...LOL.

Hey Gang,

Enjoyed seeing a few of you at Fudds....for the rest of you, please don't be shy, it's food, fun and easy-mingling. Let's go February. If nothing else, it's fun to guess who is who....LOL.

Yes, it was fun Tuesday night, except they didn't have any wine! It was thrilling to see Mr. Gadbois again and he looks great. Be sure and look at the Fudd pictures on the '64 site, they really show what fun everyone was having. We missed Donna and Marilyn, but they were remembered by everyone in conversations. It always seems so comfortable to be with everyone there. I don't remember school always feeling that way. I found it so "clicky" and I always hated that part of school. Thank goodness we hopefully, learn to grow past such egos!

Hey Group,

Just got through reading every "In Memory" student in Waltrip 65, and 64. I can tell you it is a very humbling experience. How many were taken before their time, and so many different circumstances of some. Touched my heart, and sometimes, when I feel lonely, forgotten, and/or fear the end of my existance, it is reassuring to know how many friends I will meet again when I get up there (uuuhhh...hopefully, up there!) I guess we should all be thankful that we have been fortunate to have made it this far.

Ted and Fran, thank you for your kind concern and responsibility for Ronnie Lawcock, and your brave action w/him.

In Waltrip 65, a comment on Dick Taylor from a former quiet student who has ended up happily is another reading recommendation. Whether you were popular or not, different, quiet, in school, (an excruciating period for some), it is nice to know of happy outcomes

Good morning,

Last night I woke up after 5 hrs. sleep, to watch TV, I have 2 dogs and cat! Just took to the Vet after school to the tune of $246. Everybody's little aches and pains have been taken care of, along with their nails clipped and baths. (Little do they know, I'm going to get out the shearers today). I think I'm preparing for retirement, sleep a little, take cat naps, etc. Annnywwaaay,

Caught Bill Moyers show on PBS...very encouraging, interesting. One man, Greg Mortenson, has lived and built several schools for girls (only) throughout Afganistan region. He teaches the girls, because they will become the mothers in the future and will share their knowledge w/ other family members, more so than boys. Teaches 5 languages, reading, writing, ? He has written two books, "Three for Tea" and "Stones into our Schools". I plan to read those, as Bill Moyers says he has shares his extensive knowledge of Taliban as well as Afgan cultures. His father and mother both were peacekeepers in a foreign land and he grew into it. Says the our presence will never be sucessful there as none has ever won against them. By the way he brings up his meetings w/McCrystal, Joe Biden (who've read his books) as well as the Taliban and is respected by the Taliban leaders. Says they currently take the young male children and isolate them from their familyies in camps, and they are easily trained to become terriost, strapping bombs that cannot be taken off their bodies, and uses many mentally and phyically challenged little boys.

He states he will die a happy man, because of the attainments in his life there. He says they do not wish Obama and troops to be there.

On to other watching, COPS, always good, sometimes Cheaters, my fave: is This Old House and Antique Roadshow. I refuse to buy Cable or Satellite, because I don't feel we should have to pay to watch TV, and what quality and consistent reruns to worthlessly entertain us and keep one from being outside. Just my "Stand" against them, don't have a cell phone either, but may get "just for emergencies" one at best.

Weather here is drippy, rainy, miserable cold...waiting for the sun and dry. Going to buy more fencing and Pastor Dan and Rocky of my congregation plan to come out and "fence", may have cattle in the spring. They know it is my long-standing dream to have cattle on the property again. I am a blessed woman.

Hey, hello to all you great folks. I decided to take a decadent day off and do some fun things. Naturally it's cold here in Bloomington,IL, so I've had the fire place going, music playing, continued to read a manifesto, EXECUTIVE ORDERS by Tom Clancey, and am now pouring my self a glass of wine. So, cheers to all of you and hope this is a great year. As for me, Lord willing I'm retiring (graduating) from State Farm on June 1st, 2010 and will be getting ready for my next career move.

Happy 2010 to all of you. The Magster....;-)

Hey Margaret,
Liked your bio. Hope you had a happy day off. Since when do we "worker bees" feel 1/2 guilty for taking a day off.....after all, we've worked all our lives for the greater good! Congrats on the upcoming retirement!

Hello, hello out there.....

Hi. Greetings from soon-to-be-snowy-again New York! Not much news from up here, just the usual hunkerin' down for Winter and trying to weather The Economy. Texas balminess shor' do seem attractive right 'bout now. Some NY friends had a cookout last Friday night: BBQ ribs & chicken, beans, cole slaw, and cornbread. We brought the salsa & chips. It is a testament to the spread of culture that nobody thought twice about what was served - they were too busy digging in and licking their lips. I suspect that this would have been unheard of a few decades ago.

Kay I second that! Hello Anyone out there??????

Let's transfer those many thoughts here to the FORUM. Doesn't matter what's on your mind, bring it up and put it out here. There's no censorship!!! If you just have a few minutes that's fine, someone else will respond and keep it going.

Everyone let's keep it going.

Thanks--

Linda

Well, I ran into Tony Maddox at our local Walmart. He's going to try to come next month, has been busy. Arn't we all?

Saw Avatar this weekend....that's a bad way to spend that much time in a darkened theatre, when one could be outside working, or shopping, or watching football. However, it was mildly interesting. I would rather watch a really involved romance with realistic thinking, solutions, happiness, etc. Yeah, like most women! Did it for a male friend, one who really needed to get out and socialize a little.
