All of the profiles I’ve read are so interesting and it’s nice to see what people have been up to. It’s amazing how fast 40+ years has flown by.
In March, just before graduation I met my husband to be. We were married in April, 1966 and had a wonderful roller-coaster life until his death in February, 2008. In those nearly 42 years together, we lived in several places – Houston, Jacksonville, Bay City, Athens, Alabama and Kennewick, WA. We both worked for a large engineering/ construction company, he in electrical design and me as a project administrator. I am still working but certainly look forward to retirement.
For years, I’ve been someone’s wife, someone’s mother, someone’s grandmother and all of a sudden, it’s just me. The transition will be an interesting journey. I’d like to travel and see some things I’ve never been able to see. My niece, daughter and I plan a trip to Italy next year and I’m really looking forward to seeing all the beautiful places I’ve read about and seen so many pictures of.
I want to explore interests that have been on the back burner for years and find out what the next portion of my life has in store.
Although I’ve stayed in touch with very close friends over the years, it has really been nice reconnecting and visiting so many people that were such a big part of my young life. So many of us begin school together and graduated together and friendships forged had an important effect on our lives.
Long live the Class of ’65!
Update as of October 18, 2010 - My company transferred me to Richland, WA so I plan to finish my career here; however, when I retire, I will be back to Texas. You can take the girl out of Texas but cannot take Texas out of the girl!
I remember being at a slumber party at Sherry Lynn's house and our hearing something in the garage. Sherry thought it might be their cat but us brave girls checked anyway. I was in the front, then Peggy Pratt and then Sherry when we looked through the window to the garage. Needless to say, when I saw my reflection in the window, I thought someone was in the garage looking in and we all screamed. So much for her parents getting any sleep.

RIP Richard. I remember you as being a kind person.
Mike, thank you for the birthday wishes. I'm very thankful to wakeup each morning and go through the day. I have two bad heart valves. The mitral valve is so calcified that surgery is too risky. The aortic valve cant be done without doing the other so I'm enjoying everyday I have. I have such fond memories of growing up in Oak Forest. I have 3 daughters. My husband passed in 2008. I'm really blessed and thankful we can stay in touch with those we grew up with.

Its nice to see you on Classmates. I've wondered about you over the years. I see you are still in the greater Houston area. I was in Katy but recently moved to Kyle just outside of San Marcos.
